Tess Vigeland, host of the nationally syndicated “Marketplace Money” radio show, will be the keynote speaker at The Columbian’s 2010 Clark County Economic Forecast Breakfast in January.

In a break from past years, the Jan. 21 event at the Hilton Vancouver Washington will feature a number of new faces who will join three panel discussions.

They’ll tackle major questions businesses and local leaders face as they drive to rebuild Clark County’s economy.

The three panels will examine:

• The changing face of health care, after reform and as Southwest Washington Medical Center prepares a merger with the PeaceHealth hospital chain.

• What does the county need to do to nurture business growth and innovation here?

• When will real estate prices finally stabilize, and what does this mean for those who own homes or commercial property?

Vigeland, a former Oregon Public Broadcasting radio and TV journalist, has won numerous awards for her reporting, which recently has tackled personal and consumer finance. Her program airs 8-9 p.m. Fridays on OPB, 91.5 FM.

Reservations for the breakfast will be available through the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce at http://www.vancouverusa.com, or 360-694-2588.

Tickets are $50 per person, or $450 for a table of 10. The first 50 high school and college students who register will be able to attend for free, after which tickets are $30 per student.
