Chattanooga routs Samford 48-14

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) — B.J. Coleman threw for 319 yards and four touchdowns as Chattanooga had 550 yards of total offense in 48-14 win over Samford on Saturday in Southern Conference play.

The Moccasins (6-4, 5-2) led 27-7 at halftime thanks to touchdown passes of 45 and 20 yards from Coleman to Brian Sutherland in the opening half. J.J. Jackson scored on a 3-yard run and Jordan Tippit returned an interception 66 yards for a score.

The Bulldogs (4-6, 2-5) managed 232 yards of total offense while allowing the Moccasins to rack up 231 yards on the ground and 319 through the air.

Coleman added touchdown passes of 53 and 65 yards in the second half to extend the Chattanooga lead to 41-7 with 8:16 left in the third.

Sutherland caught five passes for 167 yards and three touchdowns in the victory. Erroll Wynn ran for a game-high 100 yards on 21 carries for Chattanooga.
