The Southwest Washington Wind Symphony will showcase American music in its upcoming concert.

The 55-member concert band will perform Aaron Copland’s “Lincoln Portrait,” Carmen Dragon’s arrangement of “America the Beautiful” and “Variations on America” by Charles Ives.

When: 3-4:15 p.m. Sunday.

The concert is one of several weekend entertainment options in Clark County and Portland. Others include the latest theater production from Clark College, a six-hour musical open house in Vancouver and the latest film starring Denzel Washington.

1. Theater production looks at love

Clark College Theatre’s latest production is “Almost, Maine.”

As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above the town, its residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected ways.

2. Music school celebrates 30 years

Jodi’s School of Music will celebrate its 30th anniversary with an open house and concert.

Performers include students from the music school, as well as David Lanz, Gary Stroutsos, Tom Grant, Jim Fischer, Jodi Brown and Don Lehmann.

When: 1:30-7:30 p.m. Sunday.

3. ‘Yo Gabba Gabba!’ brings ‘Party’ to Portland

DJ Lance Rock and the cast of “Yo Gabba Gabba!” team up for a performance of “Yo Gabba Gabba! Live!: There’s a Party in My City.”

The interactive show features a mix of singing, music, dancing an animation.

When: 2 and 5 p.m. Sunday.

4. Washington faces ‘Unstoppable’ train

A half-mile-long locomotive carrying deadly explosives threatens to wipe out a city in “Unstoppable,” in theaters this weekend.

Two conductors (Denzel Washington and Chris Pine) team up to try and stop the train before it’s too late.

“Unstoppable,” directed by Tony Scott, is rated PG-13.
