GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) — Final unofficial votes show Democratic state Sen. Alan Bates is the winner in one of the two cliffhanger races determining control of the Oregon Senate.

Results posted by Jackson County on Monday give Bates 24,546 votes, or 50.22 percent, to 24,272 votes, or 49.66 percent, for Republican Dave Dotterrer. That is a margin of just 274 votes.

That means Democrats have at least a two-seat majority. Clackamas County’s final unofficial results are expected Monday afternoon. Republican Alan Olsen is expected to hold onto his narrow lead over Democratic state Sen. Martha Schrader.

Dotterrer says he is not conceding yet, and will wait for certified results due Dec. 2 to decide on whether to seek a recount.
