FORT HOOD, Texas (AP) — A hearing to determine if an Army psychiatrist should stand trial in the worst mass shooting on a U.S. military base has resumed and is likely to end quickly.

After a three-week break, accused gunman Maj. Nidal Hasan was back in court Monday at Fort Hood although his lawyer says he doesn’t plan to present any evidence at the Article 32 hearing, a military court proceeding.

More than two dozen soldiers wounded Nov. 5, 2009, at the Texas post were among those to testify last month. The hearing then was delayed, in part because the defense didn’t want it going on during the rampage anniversary.

Hasan is charged with 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder.
