CLEVELAND (AP) — The Cleveland Indians have re-signed free agent pitcher Anthony Reyes to a minor league contract.

Reyes spent most of last season building up arm strength after having reconstructive elbow surgery in 2009. He made just five starts for Cleveland’s rookie team in Arizona and Double-A Akron.

The 29-year-old spent September working on his mechanics and delivery and then pitched well enough in the Fall League for the Indians to bring him back.

Reyes was acquired in a 2008 trade with St. Louis. He is 13-26 in 52 major league starts and 3-2 in 14 starts for the Indians.
