IUPUI tops Indiana-Northwest 83-62 in home opener

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Leroy Nobles scored 21 points and Alex Young had 17 points and 11 rebounds Tuesday night to lead IUPUI past Indiana-Northwest 83-62.

IUPUI (1-1), coming off an 86-56 loss at No. 11 Gonzaga on Sunday, won easily in its home opener against the NAIA Division II school.

Young also had six assists, and three other players scored in double figures for the Jaguars. Sean Esposito scored 12 points, all on 3-pointers, in 12 minutes off the bench. Donovan Gibbs scored 11 and Stephen Thomas 10.

IUPUI never trailed and led 43-22 at halftime. The Jaguars opened up a 34-point lead five minutes into the second half.

Justin Latimore led the RedHawks with 17 points and eight rebounds.
