SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Salem, Ore., police say they’ve arrested a 33-year-old woman in what they say was a murder-for-hire plot targeting the woman’s ex-husband.

Lt. Steve Birr says Connie Lynn Anderson of Salem was arrested Tuesday and booked into the Marion County Jail.

The Oregonian reports she will be arraigned Wednesday on charges of conspiracy to commit murder, solicitation to commit murder and attempted aggravated murder.

Police say 36-year-old Kip Anderson contacted Corvallis police last month after a friend warned him that his ex-wife was trying to hire someone to kill him. An undercover Salem officer met with the woman.

Birr says that on Nov. 11, Connie Anderson agreed to pay the officer an undisclosed amount to kill her ex-husband. The couple were married for more than 10 years and divorced a year ago.

It wasn’t immediately known whether Connie Anderson is represented by a lawyer.
