Bravard, No. 16 Seminoles top Colorado St 63-52

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Cierra Bravard had 19 points and eight rebounds to lead No. 16 Florida State to 63-52 victory over Colorado State on Thursday night.

Bravard made 6 of 11 shots from the floor and 7 of 9 free throws. Natasha Howard added nine points for FSU (3-0).

Meixandra Porter scored 18 points — 15 in the second half — and Kim Mestdagh had 14 points, six rebounds and three steals for Colorado State (0-2), which outscored FSU 43-30 in the second half.

The Seminoles led 16-2 after 12 minutes and 33-9 at halftime.

Colorado State made just 3 of 22 (13.6 percent) of its shots in the first half, when the Rams also had 16 turnovers. They finished with 22.

The Seminoles shot 22 of 62 (35.5 percent) from the floor and outrebounded Colorado State 44-34.

The win gave FSU a school-record 12 consecutive home victories, a streak that dates to the 2009-10 season.
