The GEAR UP program is hosting Imagine U at WSU, a college-awareness event for all students at Hudson’s Bay and Fort Vancouver high schools.

Washington State University staff from both the Pullman and Vancouver campuses will spend Monday at Fort Vancouver and Tuesday at Hudson’s Bay.

The daylong events are intended to motivate all students to plan for college, including those who would be first-generation college students. They will learn about college admissions and ways to pay for college — and how to best handle a college application. Professors and alumni will discuss college and career tracks, such as 3-D animation, law enforcement, food fermentation (includes tasting samples), civil litigation, nursing, and DNA research.

In addition, a family night for college access information is set for 5:30 p.m. Monday at Fort Vancouver High School. All Vancouver Public Schools students and parents are invited.

For more information, call the district GEAR UP office: 360-313-1238 or 360-313-4955.

Fort Vancouver High School is at 5700 E. 18th St., and Hudson’s Bay is at 1601 E. McLoughlin Blvd.
