Dartmouth ends road skid, beats Hartford 71-57

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Junior guard Jabari Trotter scored a career-high 24 points to lead Dartmouth to a 71-57 victory over Hartford on Friday night.

Trotter made 9 of 12 shots, including 5 of 7 from 3-point range, as the Big Green (1-2) won for the first time in their past 17 road games. Dartmouth also ended a 16-game losing streak when playing in the state of Connecticut.

With Dartmouth leading 22-16 and 8:00 to play in the first half, Trotter made three consecutive 3-pointers for a 31-16 lead. He finished the half with 16 points and the Big Green led 39-24.

Morgan Sabia scored 13 points and Joe Zeglinski 12 for the Hawks (0-3), who got no closer than 12 points in the second half.

R.J. Griffin added 13 points for Dartmouth, which shot 54.8 percent (23 of 42) for the game, including 61.9 percent in the first half. The Big Green also had a 32-22 rebounding advantage.
