VERSAILLES, Ky. (AP) — Preakness champion Lookin At Lucky is looking at retirement.

Coolmore purchased the 3-year-old colt from owner Mike Pegram and will stand him at Ashford Stud. Terms of the deal were not released, but Coolmore had Lookin At Lucky listed on its stallion register on its Web site on Friday afternoon.

Lookin At Lucky won nine races in 12 career starts for trainer Bob Baffert. He was named champion 2-year-old last fall after winning five of six races.

He went off as the favorite in the Kentucky Derby, but finished sixth after getting stuck on the rail. He bounced back with an easy win in the Preakness, then went on to triumph in the Haskell Invitational and the Indiana Derby.

Lookin At Lucky ended his career with a fourth-place finish in the Breeders’ Cup Classic at Churchill Downs two weeks ago.
