McNeese State routs Louisiana College 92-53

LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) — Stephan Martin came off the bench to score 21 points as McNeese State cruised to a 92-53 win over Louisiana College on Saturday.

The Cowboys (2-1) made 35 of 64 shots from the field (56.3 percent), including 20 of 33 in the second half (60.6 percent).

Martin was 9 for 13 from the floor and hit 3 of 4 3-point attempts in 23 minutes of playing time. Ten McNeese players scored at least two points, with none playing more than 23 minutes.

McNeese State also was 10 for 18 from beyond the arc.

The Division III Wildcats (1-1), who upset New Orleans 81-78 in their season opener, made only nine field goals in the first half (34.6 percent) and shot 39.6 percent (21 of 53) for the game. They hit 5 of 22 3-pointers.

Jarrod Jackson, with 11 points, was the only Louisiana College player in double figures.
