Local residents and school patrons are invited to join Vancouver Public Schools Superintendent Steve Webb on Dec. 3 for a tour of Martin Luther King Elementary School and Vancouver School of Arts and Academics, to learn firsthand what’s new in district classrooms.

The tour highlights new uses of technology, including the King pilot program to boost reading fluency with the use of iPod Touch devices. In addition, the tour showcases VSAA’s program of choice.

The free tour starts at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 1 p.m. at the Bates Center for Educational Leadership, 2921 Falk Road. A lunch prepared by students in the district’s award-winning culinary arts program is offered for $4.

To register for the tour, please contact Susan Knable at 360-313-4720 or susan.knable@vansd.org.
