SIU-Edwardsville battles past MacMurray 88-73

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (AP) — Nikola Bundalo had a double-double and Southern Illinois-Edwardsville roared back from a 10-point second-half deficit to beat MacMurray 88-73 on Saturday night.

Bundalo had 25 points and 13 rebounds for the Cougars (1-3), who shot 55.0 percent (33 of 60). LeShaun Murphy added 15 points, Cornelius Chatt 12 and Corey Wickware 10.

The Division III Highlanders (0-2) got 25 points from C.J. McClellan and 20 from Jerel Robertson.

Bundalo’s basket gave the Cougars a 21-11 lead with 12:15 left in the first half.

But the Highlanders clawed back within 31-28, then went on a 10-0 run spurred by three baskets from McClellan and led 38-31 with 48 seconds left in the half.

MacMurray pushed its advantage to 48-38 with 16:05 left before the Cougars regained the momentum. Murphy tied it 55-55 with 11:13 left, and SIU-Edwardsville expanded that edge to as many as 18 at 81-63.
