PORTO VECCHIO, Corsica (AP) — The Criterium International race will stay in Corsica until 2013.
Organizers said Monday the two-day race was switched from Charleville-Mezieres in northern France to Porto Vecchio in March this year. It was the first time a significant professional race had been held in Corsica since 1982.
The Amaury Sport Organization, which owns the race, also hosts the showcase Tour de France. It said it wants another three races to be held there.
The race will be held March 26-27, with a mountain stage, flat stage and short-distance time-trial.
