EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Michigan State quarterback Kirk Cousins is trying to tough it out for one more week with shoulder and ankle injuries.

Cousins hobbled around the field during the second half of the 11th-ranked Spartans’ 35-31 win over Purdue on Saturday. He says he took shots at halftime for his sprained shoulder and ankle.

Cousins came up big, throwing for three touchdowns and then running for the winning score as Michigan State rallied from 15 points down in the fourth quarter.

Cousins said after the game he expected to be ready when the Spartans play at Penn State this weekend. A win could send Michigan State to the Rose Bowl.
