MONROE, La. (AP) — Zac Downing hit the game-winning 3-pointer with four seconds remaining to give Stephen F. Austin a 65-64 win over Louisiana-Monroe on Tuesday night.

The Lumberjacks (3-1) trailed 64-62 with less than 30 seconds left to play as Lawrence Gilbert headed to the free-throw line looking to push the Warhawks’ lead to four.

Gilbert missed the front end of the one-and-one, giving Downing the opportunity to win the game with a 3-pointer, which he did.

Jordan Glynn scored 18 points on 6-of-7 shooting (85.7 percent) to lead Stephen F. Austin. Jereal Scott added 15 points and Denzel Barnes 11 for the Lumberjacks.

Hugh Mingo led Lousiana-Monroe with 17 points. Fred Brown scored 14 and Tommie Sykes and Steven McClellan had 13 apiece.

Both teams held leads — neither by more than seven points — and there were 10 ties.
