Coleman lifts Presbyterian past Princeton 69-67

HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) — Al’Lonzo Coleman scored 17 points, including the go-ahead basket with 16 seconds left, to lead Presbyterian to a 69-67 victory over Princeton on Wednesday.

Josh Johnson’s free throw with 2 seconds to go sealed the win for the Blue Hose (2-4) in the O’Reilly Auto Parts CBE Classic.

Khalid Mutakabbir added 16 points for Presbyterian, which led 64-57 with 3:59 remaining.

The Tigers (2-3) then used a 7-0 run, including six points by Ian Hummer, to tie the game with 1:30 left.

After Pierre Miller made two free throws for the Blue Hose, Princeton took the lead on a Douglas Davis 3-pointer with 28 seconds to go. Coleman then hit his game-winner.

Presbyterian held Princeton’s leading scorer, Dan Mavraides, who was averaging 15.8 points per game, to five points on 2-for-11 shooting. Hummer had 24 points on 10-for-13 shooting, plus 14 rebounds, and Davis had 23 points.
