Stuff the Bus food drive begins

Published: November 24, 2010, 12:00am

The annual food drive competition between Camas High School and Washougal High School has begun.

Both schools are collecting nonperishable food, cash and unopened toys for Stuff the Bus 2010. This is the third year of the event; each school has claimed victory once. Schools in both districts will collect donations through Dec. 6. Last year, the schools collected 72,000 pounds of food.

Beginning at noon Dec. 6, students at both high schools will load donations into school buses. The buses will head to Washougal’s Exterior Wood at 5 p.m., where they will be weighed. The public is invited to the celebration and weigh-in.

Whichever school increases the weight of its donations by the largest percentage will win the competition.

Donations will benefit Children’s Home Society of Washington, Inter-Faith Treasure House and the C.A.R.O.L. Program.
