Zajac gives Devils 2-1 SO win over Flyers

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Travis Zajac scored in the fourth round of a shootout Saturday to give the New Jersey Devils a 2-1 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers.

Johan Hedberg made fourth straight start in goal for New Jesey with Martin Brodeur sidelined with a bruised elbow. He had 40 saves through overtime.

Adam Mair scored the regulation goal for the Devils, who won for the third time in the last four games.

Danny Brier scored on a power-play goal in the third period for Philadelphia. This was the Flyers’ second straight shootout loss.
