BELLINGHAM, Wash. (AP) — Police investigating the disappearance of a Western Washington University student say a blank text message was sent from his cell phone at 2:40 a.m. Sunday in Bellingham.

That’s about 40 minutes after Dwight Clark left a party where he was last seen and headed back to his dorm.

The Bellingham Herald reports police believe the message was sent from the downtown area.

Police and volunteers continue to search for the 18-year-old from Auburn who arrived for his freshman year about a week before he went missing.

Searchers are handing out fliers. A $14,000 reward has been offered for information that helps find Clark.
