BOSTON (AP) — Adrian Beltre left Boston for Los Angeles before Friday night’s game against the New York Yankees to be with his wife Sandra, who was about to give birth to their third child.
Manager Terry Francona doesn’t expect Beltre back for any of the season-ending three-game series.
It isn’t known if Beltre will wear a Red Sox uniform again. He signed a one-year contract after spending last season with the Seattle Mariners and is expected to test the free agent market.
