BATTLE GROUND, Wash. (AP) — Battle Ground police say a single-engine plane made an emergency landing late Friday afternoon in an open field after experiencing engine problems. Sgt. Jason Perdue says the pilot was alone in the plane and was not injured.

Perdue says the pilot is from Lake Stevens, Wash., but was not identified.

The plane is undamaged but unable to take off from the field because of the terrain. Police say it will be towed on Saturday.
