SAN JACINTO, Calif. (AP) — Steven Bowditch shot an 8-under 63 on Saturday to grab a two-stroke lead in the Soboba Golf Classic.

Bowditch hit only eight of 18 greens in regulation but had 18 official putts, tying Mike Brisky’s Nationwide Tour record for fewest putts in a single round. Brisky set the mark in the second round of the 2003 Wichita Open.

Camilo Benedetti matched the course record with a 9-under 62 and is two strokes back of Bowditch at 14 under for the tournament. Keegan Bradley also is at 14 under after a third-round 68.

The winner of the $1 million tournament at the Country Club at Soboda Springs receives $180,000, and the top 25 on the money list at the end of the season earn 2011 PGA Tour cards.
