PUYALLUP, Wash. (AP) — A man has been shot by a Puyallup police officer in an incident Tuesday night.

Details are sketchy, but Pierce County sheriff’s Detective Ed Troyer says the officer was following a suspect in a vehicle when the man got out. Shots were fired after a foot chase.

Troyer says the officer was not hurt and the wounded man was taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
