WENATCHEE, Wash. (AP) — Bail has been set at $1 million for the man accused of killing 17-year-old Wenatchee student Mackenzie Cowell.
KOMO Radio reports Christopher Scott Wilson made his first court appearance Thursday in Wenatchee.
Police arrested the 29-year-old Wenatchee man Wednesday for investigation of murder.
Wilson and Cowell were classmates at a beauty school where Mackenzie was last seen on Feb. 9. Her body was found four days later along the Columbia River at Crescent Bar.
Investigators say DNA found on duct tape at the scene matched with Wilson.
