Plastic bag manufacturer sold to California company

Excelsior Packing Group’s Vancouver plant has been sold to California-based Mercury Plastics, Mercury employees confirmed Thursday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

According to Plastics News, the plant’s annual sales are in the $20 million range. About 40 people worked there before the merger. Between 30 and 40 will continue with the company, Mercury President Benjamin Deutsch told Plastics News. The Vancouver manufacturer makes plastic bags used in food packaging.
