Rangers home with chance for series win over Rays

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — The Texas Rangers are quickly changing the perception of their team.

The AL West champions play their first home playoff game in 11 years Saturday with a chance to win a postseason series for the first time — ever. The Rangers have a commanding division series lead after winning the first two games in Tampa Bay.

Texas had won only one playoff game before this week, and had been known for its big-bashing ways. This team is up in the best-of-five series because of dominant pitching and clutch hitting — the same way it won all season.

Michael Young says “different guys have big moments” in games and if the Rangers keep pitching well they will find a way to win games.

Tampa Bay has only one run and eight hits in the series.
