SEATTLE (AP) — A Seattle police officer credits his first aid training in saving a man who was choking at a restaurant.

Police say Sgt. Bryan Clenna (klen-ay) was having dinner Wednesday when he noticed other people trying to help the choking man who lost consciousness.

The officer performed the Heimlich maneuver for nearly a minute until the airway opened and the man revived.

Responding firefighters say the sergeant saved the man’s life.
