GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) — Grants Pass, Oregon, officials say police and fire personnel chose not to take part in a charity “toy run” because members of the Vagos motorcycle club were there.

Deputy Chief Bill Landis tells the Daily Courier that the city considers the Vagos to be a criminal organization.

In previous years, Santa and Mrs. Claus rode on a fire engine during the event. But at the run last Sunday, they wer in the back of a pickup truck.

Organizers say they are disappointed at the city’s decision. The event includes a motorcycle and vehicle procession through Grants Pass to gather toys and other donations.
