WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) — Ryan Taggart’s 12-yard touchdown pass to Bill Edger in the third quarter, their second scoring connection of the game, gave Holy Cross a 17-13 victory over Brown on Saturday.

Taggart completed 5 of 6 passes on the 70-yard drive, including a 34-yarder to Luke Chmielinski.

On their previous possession, the Crusaders (3-3) failed to score after starting from the Brown 13. Punter Nathan Lovett of the Bears (2-2) was tackled for a 13-yard loss after a heavy rush, but Rob Dornfried missed a 25-yard field goal try.

Brown reached the Holy Cross 4 in the fourth quarter, but quarterback Patrick Donnelly was tackled at the 3 by Ryan McGinn on fourth-and-goal.

After Holy Cross led 10-0, Brown came back to lead 13-10 at halftime. Mark Kachmer scored on a 5-yard run and Donnelly found Tellef Lundevall with a 7-yard TD pass.

Donnelly finished 23-for-40 for 217 yards.
