Lum leads Lehigh past Fordham 21-17

BETHLEHEM, Pa. (AP) — Chris Lum threw two touchdown passes to lead Lehigh to a 21-17 victory over Fordham on Saturday in the Patriot League opener for both teams.

Lum completed 14 of 23 passes for 146 yards and senior tailback Jay Campbell carried 22 times for 92 yards for the Mountain Hawks (3-2, 1-0).

Ryan Spadola scored his first career touchdown on a 12-yard pass from Lum with 6:06 left in the first quarter and Lum threw a 17-yard touchdown pass to Zach Barket in the third for Lehigh’s final score.

Fordham quarterback Blake Wayne completed 24 of 41 passes for 343 yards and a touchdown as four Rams receivers surpassed the 70-yard receiving mark.

Fordham (2-4, 0-1) led 10-7 on a 39-yard reception by David Moore, but Lehigh responded with Michael Colvin’s 6-yard TD run for a 14-10 halftime lead.

Fordham drove to the Lehigh 27 in the final 2 minutes, but could not score.
