Murray State beats Missouri State 72-59

MURRAY, Ky. (AP) — Casey Brockman set school records with 570 passing yards and seven touchdowns as Murray State beat Missouri State 72-59 on Saturday.

With the score tied 59-59 in the fourth quarter, Brockman hit Dexter Barnett on an 18-yard touchdown pass to give the Racers a 65-59 lead after a blocked extra point. Brockman added a 28-yard touchdown pass later in the quarter.

The Racers (2-4) fell behind 21-3 in the first quarter before a 2-yard touchdown run by Brockman cut the deficit to 21-10.

Brockman threw touchdown passes of 21 and 71 yards to Marcus Harris in the second quarter, but a 31-yard touchdown run by Cody Kirby and a blocked punt return for a score extended the Bears (2-3) lead to 38-24.

Kirby ran for 81 yards and four touchdowns for Missouri State.

Harris had nine catches for 213 yards and five touchdowns in the victory for Murray State.
