Northwestern State tops Central Arkansas 24-19

CONWAY, Ark. (AP) — Rumeall Morris ran for 122 yards, including a 58-yard dash for the go-ahead touchdown, to lift Northwestern State to a 24-19 win over Central Arkansas on Saturday night.

Morris’ long run came in the third quarter to put the Demons (2-4, 1-1 Southland) in the lead 17-13.

His score was followed up early in the fourth quarter when Paul Harris connected with Bradley Brown to widen the advantage to 24-13.

Harris finished throwing 11 for 14 for 97 yards. He also ran for a touchdown in the first half.

The Bears (3-2, 0-1) tried to catch up late in the game with a touchdown run by Terence Bobo, but they missed the two-point conversion and never scored again.

Central Arkansas’ Nathan Dick threw for 279 yards on 24 completions, including a first-half scoring toss to Dominique Croom. He also led his team in rushing with 43 yards.
