A 39-year-old Battle Ground man who was hit by a vehicle Thursday night was in satisfactory condition at a local hospital Sunday night.

Southwest Washington Medical Center officials said Scott Martin was being treated for head injuries.

About 8 p.m. Thursday, witnesses said, Martin was crossing Highway 99 on foot at 72nd Street, against a red light, when he was struck by a Chevrolet Astro van driven north by Harold Sullivan, 68, of Ridgefield.

Martin was dragged about 70 feet under the van before Sullivan could stop, according to a bulletin from Sgt. John Horch with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

Sullivan hadn’t been drinking; it wasn’t known whether Martin was impaired, a bulletin said.

No other information was available Sunday.
