The Vancouver police and fire departments responded to an apparent arson overnight near the intersection of West 19th and Harney streets.

A parked car there was set aflame at about 3:40 a.m. Firefighters used a circular saw to cut through the hood of a 1995 Pontiac Bonneville and then doused flames that were centralized in the engine compartment.

There were no injuries reported, said Capt. Kevin Murray of the fire department.

The Vancouver Fire Arson Team is investigating.

Anyone with information is asked to call the arson hotline at 360-606-9022.
