Clark County home sales in September showed a slight improvement over the previous month, but dropped more than 25 percent from the same month last year, according to a sales report issued Wednesday.

There were 414 new and preowned houses sold in September, 39 more sales than in August, but still lower than the 556 home sales in September 2009, reported “benchmarks,” a data service of Vancouver-based Riley & Marks appraisal firm.

Home values in Clark County also held steady, with a median price — half sold for more, half for less — of $213,500 for all homes sold. The median price was 1.2 percent lower than the countywide median price of $216,115 in August, and less than 1 percent below the median price of $215,000 in September 2009.
