ACAPULCO, Mexico (AP) — U.S. Olympic Committee chairman Larry Probst has been chosen for the executive council of the Association of National Olympic Committees.
Probst takes a spot once held by former USOC international vice president Bob Ctvrtlik. Probst was picked Wednesday at the meeting of national Olympic committees, and his addition is considered a good step in the USOC’s effort to increase its international standing.
One of Probst’s biggest goals as the USOC tries to improve its reputation is to have key people in America’s Olympic movement in more international leadership positions.
