NEW YORK (AP) — Sandy Alderson has met with New York Mets executives for the second time as the team searches for a new general manager.

The Mets say Alderson finished his interview with chief operating officer Jeff Wilpon and assistant general manager John Ricco on Thursday. One of several candidates for the job, Alderson toured Citi Field for the first time and met with other club officials.

Alderson, former president of the Oakland Athletics and CEO of the San Diego Padres, first met with Wilpon and Ricco in New York last week.

The Mets plan to schedule a second round of interviews next week. They are looking for a successor to GM Omar Minaya, fired along with manager Jerry Manuel following a second straight losing season.
