PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A task force says Portland’s TriMet transit agency can do a lot to improve safety.
The task force was formed after an April accident in which a bus driver hit five people in a downtown Portland crosswalk. Two of the pedestrians died.
The Oregonian reports that the panel found TriMet has to change its culture so that everyone at the agency is focused on safety.
TriMet General Manager Neil McFarlane tells the newspaper that he will make changes because of the review.
