ELLENSBURG, Wash. (AP) — Central Washington University officials say 40 students face conduct hearings due to a house party in Rosyln where a number of people became sick.

The university says more students will be notified of hearings after police provide their names. Police have interviewed 54 students and three others. Sanctions could range from an alcohol education class to suspension or expulsion.

Rosyln police estimate 50 or more students or friends were at the Oct. 8 party in the town about 30 miles west of the Ellensburg campus. Many partygoers were underage and some drank alcohol that was apparently drugged. Nine were hospitalized.

CWU officials say toxicology results are expected to be discussed Monday at a news conference by Attorney General Rob McKenna and school President James Gaudino.
