Try This: Opportunities for pumpkin patch fun slipping away

Time is running out to see the Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze at Bi-Zi Farms. Activities include hay rides, a corn maze, a petting zoo, duck races, a pumpkin launch, a straw bale maze and pyramid and live music.

When: Every weekend in October; 2-5:30 p.m. Fridays, and 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The corn maze remains open 6-9:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

Where: Bi-Zi Farms, 9504 N.E. 119th St., Vancouver.

Admission: $8, free for children 2 and younger. Admission includes a free pumpkin of any size and a free hot drink. While children 2 and younger receive free admission, they do not receive a free pumpkin.

Admission is $5 for the nighttime corn maze Fridays and Saturdays.

The seasonal festival is one of several weekend entertainment options in Clark County and Portland. Others include a cemetery tour and an art exhibit in downtown Vancouver.

1. Cemetery tour offers look at county’s past

Visitors will meet Clark County residents from the past at the Old City Cemetery Tour. The tour lets visitors hear their stories as part of the lantern-lit walk. Tours last about an hour. Dress for walking and the weather.

When: 5-7:15 tonight; tours start every 15 minutes.

Where: Old City Cemetery, East Mill Plain and Grand boulevards, Vancouver. The entrance is on East 13th Street.

Admission: $10; free for children 10 and younger with an adult.

2. Friends work together on art exhibit

The North Bank Artists Gallery’s latest exhibit was 10 years in the making.

Work by Lynda Ater, Lee Dooley, JoEllyn Loehr, Patricia Homan Lynch, Gretchen Milhaupt and Rebecca Seymour remains on display through Oct. 30.

About 15 years ago, the group of women decided to return to art school to fulfill their dreams of becoming artists. The women became friends, and the exhibit reflects their journey since graduating from the Pacific Northwest College of Art 10 years ago.

Hours: 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
