Coast Guard closes Columbia River

SEATTLE (AP) — The Coast Guard has closed the Columbia River, Tillamook Bay, Ore., and the Siuslaw River mouth at Florence, Ore. because of hazardous storm conditions.

The waterways remained closed to all vessels Sunday morning. The Coast Guard says it will re-open these waterways as soon as weather improves.

Requests to transit the river bars before reopening must be approved the captain of the port in Astoria, Ore. Call 503-861-6211 for further information or to request crossing.
