NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Rutgers football coach Greg Schiano says paralyzed player Eric LeGrand was able to watch the Scarlet Knights play from his hospital room.

Schiano did not update LeGrand’s condition Sunday during a conference call. The junior defensive tackle is paralyzed from the neck down. His condition has not changed since he was injured making a tackle on a kickoff return against Army on Oct. 16.

LeGrand is at Hackensack University Medical Center and watched Rutgers lose 41-21 at Pittsburgh on Saturday.

To honor LeGrand, Rutgers players had the word “Believe” on their helmets. Pitt players and students signed a banner wishing him well. Many fans wore stickers with Rutgers’ logo and the message “Pitt Is Pulling For Eric.”
