A BNSF Railway train struck a car that was stuck on the tracks in east Vancouver on Sunday evening.

No one was hurt in the accident that happened about 7:30 p.m. at the crossing near 147th Avenue and Rivershore Drive.

Officials said a pizza-delivery man’s car became high-centered on the tracks and he could not free the car in time.

Gus Melonas of BNSF said the man heard the train whistle, got out of the car and got away from the vehicle.

The car was totaled.

BNSF crews were examining the damaged locomotive.

Melonas said the 109-car train originated in Pasco and was headed for Seattle.

The name of the driver was not available.
