CINCINNATI (AP) — Quarterback Zach Collaros might not be available for Cincinnati’s next game against Syracuse.

Collaros suffered a knee injury late in a 38-30 loss to South Florida on Friday night. He was forced to sit out the final series, when backup Chazz Anderson drove the Bearcats (3-4, 1-1 Big East) to the 15-yard line before time ran out.

Coach Butch Jones says Collaros will practice on Tuesday, when the coaching staff will get a better feel for whether he can play. Collaros leads the Big East in passing efficiency and yards, ranking 15th nationally. He threw for 463 yards and three touchdowns against South Florida.

Anderson is a junior who hasn’t started a game in two years.
