SEATTLE (AP) — The National Weather Service forecasts additional snow Tuesday in Washington’s mountains as a strong fall storm that hit over the weekend moves through.
A winter storm warning remains in effect in the Cascades until 6 p.m. Forecasters expect 12 to 16 inches of new snow by Wednesday at higher elevations.
Snow fell throughout the day Monday at 4,000-foot Stevens Pass and started Monday evening at 3,000-foot Snoqualmie Pass.
Forecasters say the storm that brought high winds and heavy rains will ease for a short break on Wednesday. Then, more rains are forecast through the weekend across Washington, with more mountain snow.
