Rain and mountain snow remained problems Tuesday for searchers looking for a plane with three people on board missing in a mountainous area of southwest Washington near White Pass.

The state Aviation Division says two helicopters and Lewis County ground teams searched Monday in the area where the plane dropped off radar.

The plane, registered to Pacific Cataract and Laser Institute in Chehalis, took off from Chehalis Monday morning on a flight to Lewiston, Idaho. About 10 minutes into the flight the pilot of the twin-engine Cessna radioed that the plane was turning back because it lost power in one engine. It never arrived.

The Cessna 340A has tail number N68718.
