Salmon Creek: The Salmon Creek Farmers’ Market ended its first season on Sept. 30. The final day “was outstanding and a fitting end to a successful first season. All of us, the organizers, vendors and volunteers, are already looking forward to next season,” market spokeswoman Ann Foster said in an e-mail. Organizers are collecting feedback from visitors through a survey at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/9BR86Z5 or via e-mail to info@salmoncreekfarmersmarket.com.

Salmon Creek: The Skyview High School Marching Band won several caption awards including best music, best marching, best general effect, best percussion, best color guard and best drum major Oct. 9 at the Tumwater Marching Band Festival. The band competed with several other bands from around the state. “It was great to see because we had a pretty rough week,” said band director Steve Robertson. The band will compete closer to home this Saturday in the McKenzie Classic at McKenzie Stadium, 2205 N.E. 138th Ave. Performances begin at 11 a.m.

Another show is planned for April at the hotel.
